cute but...needs improvement (2010-03-20)

Loved the size, design and especially that it lays flat with spiral center BUT..the cover-front and back is just too flimsy to hold up, for any length of time (much less a year) even in the gentlest person's handbag. So, that was disappointing. Make the cover sturdier & laminated? and you've got yourself a winner..I'd buy one every year and give as gifts!

Cute Cute Cute! (2010-01-19)

I ordered a little pocket calendar from Posy Paper Co. for the second year in a row. It's just as cute as can be and perfect to carry around in my bag. Great way to keep track of events and due dates.

In Parrots 2011, world-renowned wildlife photographers create a yearlong gallery of stunning images displaying parrots nesting, roosting and preening, in company and alone, and as they are rarely seen. Bird Songs 2010 Calendar (2010-03-13)

A friend had this calendar and even though it was well into the year I hunted for it, so
eager to get hold of those wonderful bird songs...and so amazing, you just press this strip
of paper and these marvelous birds come right into your home and sing to you!
She uses the songs on her telephone answering machine--I'm going to too!
Songbirds are in serious decline, but maybe by appreciating them and their songs
we can all become more aware of protecting them.

A Calendar You Can Really Enjoy (2010-02-11)

I bought last years calendar and just loved it so naturally I was looking forward to the 2010 one. My grandson can't wait to push the buttons and hear his favorite bird songs. The Loon is our favorite this year as it sounds spooky, just like a wolf howling. I took last years calendar to the daycare where I teach, the kids really enjoy it. It won't be long before I have to get new batteries!!

A LANDMARK PUBLICATION (2005-01-10)

That John James Audubon was America's foremost naturalist there can be no doubt. That John James Audubon: The Watercolors for the Birds of America, published by Villard Books in association with the New York Historical Society, is a landmark publication there should be no doubt.

A companion volume to a museum exhibition, this magnificent presentation of 470 color illustrations is a significant contribution to the worlds of art, nature and ornithology. In addition to the stunningly reproduced art, the volume contains four excellent articles: Theodore E. Stebbins, Jr. examines Audubon's artistic development; Annette Blaugrund discusses his skills as an entrepreneur; Amy Meyers presents Audubon as a naturalist; and Reba Fishman Snyder sheds light on the technical aspects of the watercolors.

John James Audubon: The Watercolors for the Birds of America is a superb representation of the works of an artist and naturalist who knows no peer.
