Author: Barbara Hand Clow
Bestselling author Barbara Hand Clow shows how the Mayan Calendar is a bridge to galactic wisdom that fosters personal growth and human evolution
• Unearths the meaning behind the calendar, its message for modern civilization, and what will happen when the calendar ends
• Reveals how time acceleration is a manifestation of the acceleration of consciousness
• By the author of The Pleiadian Agenda
The Mayan Code is a deep exploration of how, as we approach the end of the Mayan Calendar, time and consciousness are accelerating, giving us a new understanding of the universe. Using Carl Johan Calleman’s research, as well as the ideas of other Mayan Calendar scholars, Barbara Hand Clow examines 16.4 billion years of evolution to decode the creative patterns of Earth--the World Mind. These great patterns culminate in 2011, and then during 2012 major astrological influences will inspire us to attain oneness and enlightenment.
The Mayan Code shows how the time cycles of the Calendar match important periods in the evolutionary data banks of Earth and the Milky Way Galaxy. These stages of evolution are converging during the final stage of the Calendar, the period between 1999 and 2011. War and territoriality, resource management and separation from nature, are all part of daily events we must process during these few short years: evidence of the tightening spiral of time that we experience as time speeding up. Barbara Hand Clow counsels that our own personal healing is the most important factor as we prepare to make this critical leap in human evolution--now referred to as the awakening of the World Mind.
Unnecessary Bush bashing (2010-07-06)I'm halfway through this book and not sure I can finish it. It is very American centric (the author was born in Michigan) and has, IMHO, unnecessary Bush bashing thoughout. Here are a couple of example quotes " ...I was startled to hear the barely intelligible stammering of an extraordinarily ignorant politician thrashing his way through an interview. His annoying nasal voice was cocky, pugnacious, and arrogant." " ...the speaker was George W. Bush, son of George Herbert Walker Bush! An idiot, who sounded like he was swishing marbles in his mouth when he spoke...", "... while a sneaky, snake-nosed hegemonist was stealing onto the world's stage armed with his daddy's personal cadre of Blue Meanies..."
The author also believes that the 911 attacks were given "the green light from military and secret agencies leading all the way to the White House ..." , "...thousands were murdered just so George Junior could beef up the military to invade Afganistan and Iraq in order to control oil in the Middle East."
And evidently the ancient Mayans predicted thousands of years in advance that America would be corrupt and would need to be destroyed. Most of the Mayan calendar content of this book seems to have been taken from another author, Carl Johan Calleman. I'm going to toss this book and read his. If you still really want to read this book, try to borrow a copy or find a used one. Ciao
Reinforcing All the Prior One-Star Ratings (2010-03-22)Well, it is tough to say what hasn't already been said! I have to admit that I was shocked to read some of the 4 and 5-star ratings. It is like they read (and/or interpreted) just those areas that they wanted to "believe in". Such as a rater who stated, "This book is NOT a doom and gloom portrayal of the future, but is, as I believe, the hope of a better future, a future of peace and love for many as we move forward into an anticipated leap of human consciousness.... " Sorry but it most assuredly is "Doom and Gloom" book in the sense that there are predictions of massive cataclysmic events that will leave a population MUCH REDUCED from what it is now, likely just a small fraction (of which of course will be super enlightened and advanced consciousness souls who will be the "new evolution" of mankind). Hmmm... I wonder just what it is that will happen t all those other BILLIONS of people? Of course that is followed by "Barbara gives in-depth explanations of how the Mayan calendar works, the details of which are a little too technical for me, but that's OK. I don't really need to understand the details of the calendar itself, just her rationale for her analysis....Much of this book resonates very well with me...." Uh, as in brainwashed into a set of beliefs that have to rationale backing at all?
Also information presented as facts are often flawed - if not downright incorrect (scientific findings have their legitimate conclusions re-interpreted by the author at will when necessary to fit in with her "Code" - which was not any actual form of "code" that I could discern. Likewise she has a completely off-base reckoning of Man's evolution and history, also tweaking it and re-interpreting it as necessary to fit within her "explanations".
I find it interesting that if you go to her website ([...]) that you will find this statement: "After thirteen years of teaching the nine dimensions, Barbara and I came to the same conclusion: we had to stop for a while. The fun thing about our "stopping for a while" is that you, our students and readers, are encouraged to teach the material yourselves."
I wonder if the decision to stop teaching is in anyway related to repeated questions about what happened to short range predictions that she made in this book -- and that fell flat on their face. Like the continued power structure of the "Dark Side" elites, the Bushites and the NeoCons - who would greatly contribute to the natural "cataclysmic events" by their pushing the United States into economical failures and war after war after war. Obviously as this book was published in early 2007 and therefore written in the 2005 - 2006 time period and the NeoCons WERE doing exactly this, she rolled the dice that these people would continue in office, that the NeoCons would retain control of Congress and that GWB would be replaced by another NeoCon. But what ACTUALLY happened? The more liberal and enlightened consciously Democrats took control of the Congress in January of 2007 and a more liberal and enlightened consciously Democrat, Obama, took office as President in 2009 (and began winding down Iraq while continuing to fight the correct and "just and moral" war in Afghanistan (that the Bushites initially won - and then lost in their hurry to invade and occupy Iraq and gain tremendous deals with Oil Production / Distribution "special deals").
And then of course the biggie, with her prediction ("channeled prophesy") of peace finally coming to the land of Judea and Palestine with the Jews and Palestinians mutually coming together in an eternal enlightenment of peace -- specifically between August and November of 2008! Ding! Ding! Ding! Not only wrong, but "Super Wrong"...
No wonder the determination of "After thirteen years of teaching the nine dimensions, Barbara and I came to the same conclusion: we had to stop for a while... " I think that I would have not only done that, but also quietly taken down my website!
A Change of Consciousness (2009-08-25)Clow states that humans were quarantined from the rest of the Universe after the flood of 9500 BCE.
Earth is an isolated planet in the midst of an evolving
and highly organized interplanetary, intergalactic, and
multidimensional universe...a member of a collective
Universe that functions by universal law, and life was planted
here and cultivated under the stewardship of more advanced
societies. (180)
She believes the end date of The Mayan Calendar, which traditionally is 2012, is actually between 2008 and 2011. But Clow is not predicting a destructive end; she predicts a spiritual or evolutionary shift, a change of consciousness. Clow sees this event as the end of Earth's quarantine from the Universe and the decline of our aggressive and destructive ways. This new era will provide more opportunity for contact with beings from other star systems, such as the Pleiades.
Clow cites many references that help validate her work. She discusses "intelligent design" and her problems with Darwin's evolution that don't account for "gaps" in our advances. She suggests that time acceleration is occurring and that we have already begun to feel a quickening of the energy around us. She claims we have all been feeling that heightened awareness since 1998.
She encourages us to clear out the toxins from our past, so that we can move forward. She believes that "old junk" needs to be released, such as memories of catastrophic floods from our distant past. These memories are not yet conscious ones. We see future destruction because of our unacknowledged or unprocessed past. With time acceleration, the traumas and emotional blocks are coming to light, and the Iraq War is helping us remember. Our challenge is to listen to and then clear these old hurts.
A Good Introduction (2009-08-03)Being the first book that I have read on the 2012 Mayan predictions , The Mayan Code eased me into a variety of concepts and hypothesis that ultimately revolve around the acceleration and evolution of the human will.
Ms. Clow blends academia with spirituality to deliver a work that is touching, fun, and interesting. Nothing like the doomesday messages out in the media, Ms. Clow's book focuses on the hopeful message that we have a chance to be "keepers of life, not masters of death."
Great Book! (2009-06-30)I loved this account of 2012. This book is a solid foundation in my metaphysical library and is easy ti understand and compelling. Highly recommend this book for anyone trying to understand the Maya 2012 theory and understanding the awakening on man.

Daily Planner (2010-02-04)This is my favorite daily planner. I've been using it for about 5 years and buying it for Christmas gifts. It's great for everyday plans as well as checking the signs.
Don't leave home without it... (2010-02-03)This planetary guide is a 'must have' astrological tool I purchase every year. Not only is there a daily ephemeris, but also a daily aspecterian between prime planets which gives me beaucoup information literally at my fingertips. Included are adequate areas where I can log necessary business & tax information, as well.
I buy two, every year (2010-02-03)I have used this calendar for a number of years, since it first began to carry the Opportunity Periods of Jim Shawvan. I buy one for home & one for office.
"If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all"
- and I am at best a novice at astrology -
- but the Opportunity Periods help a lot.
It is clear about moon-changes & other astrological moments, so I am able to utilize what little else I know of astrology (e.g., I like it for planting the garden) - and it's clear about my time-zone & what planets are where, when.
Well done book, good explanations in the verbal chapters as well.
Easy to see, easy to read, and space to make notes for each day.
Extensive, Easy to Use Daily Ephemeris (2010-01-21)This is the second year I've used this version of spiral, daily ephemeris. For years, I used Jim Maynard's. Maynard's has been subject to several mistakes. Granted, his version is creatively beautiful and Llewellyn's is not, but besides accuracy, the latter provides daily inconjuncts including asteroids, which I find helpful.
Don't miss out (2010-01-19)This is the most useful astrological calendar available. My only suggestions to Llewellyn would be to add a few more handy articles/tables to the book, to put the week number and day number in the day slots. and to put little indentations for quick access to the ephemeris. But again, these things are more important for students that don't think of them, rather than a practitioner like myself. As for me, let's just say that it hasn't left my desk since it arrived. For me, that's saying a lot. I often take it with me, because doing both horary and electional astrology (answering questions and date selection) are a snap with this handy item.

Pocket Astrologer 2010 (2010-07-23)My astrologist introduced me to this GREAT little book. He helped me to understand that the moon plays an important role in my life & now I use this guide every day. It's been a HUGE help to me!! : )
Excellent resource. (2010-04-28)Am just stepping in to the realm of Astrology and this is an excellent resource for a beginner.

Great Information! (2010-07-23)This book has so much information, things that I never considered, the moon does have so much impact on our lives and on our planet! Great read!
Beautifully Illustrated guide (2010-07-19)Living in balance with nature isn't just about being green, it's also about being in touch with the universal cycle of energy that affects life on planet Earth. In Tune with the Moon is a rich guide to understanding how the moon's cycles influence the growth of plants and gardens. From tides to astrological signs to Chinese elements, this beautifully illustrated book presents a holistic view of the moon's relationship with our world, reminding us to work with this flow of life-enhancing energy for a greater harvest. A great annual guide that includes a lunar calendar and monthly planner for working in harmony with lunar energy.

Helpful for a Range of Applications (2010-06-13)I've been using this guide for about 2 months and pre-ordered the edition for 2011. For now, its the best moon data resource I've found to use in adjusting acutherapy treatments according to the Stems and Branches theory. While there may be other season/moon calenders produced by Chinese Medicine publishers, I've not located them yet. I also enjoy the extra notations in this guide for a variety of life applications.
A very rapid summary of the moon phases is provided for each month. There are focused composite charts aimed at providing visual fluctuations in the waxing and waning calendar that is also supplemented by noting dates of lunar nodes, apogee and perigee, divisions of each month by elements (earth, air, fire and water), astrological signs, and the chinese calendar divisions. These are followed by a simple linear calendar section with a space by each calendar date to write in your own special notations.
This year I am NOT using it to optimize planting of specific types of crops (root vegetables, fruits/seeds, flowering plants, leafy vegetables), waging war on garden pests, composting, beekeeping, winegrowing, or harvesting medicinal herbs, etc. However, interested persons may find this a compact and detailed compendium of the key variables necessary to synchronize these tasks to their environment. Some of the content is similar to that found in farmer's almanacs -- but more succinct. I am indeed noticing some reasonable correlations in the behavior of my garden plants with the moon cycle. I am watching with intrigue this year and may be more intentional in my planting efforts next year.
This particular guide for living in tune with the moon was developed by the Findhorn community and is calibrated to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) adjusted for the seasonal daylight savings shifts. While, I do have to make an appropriate adjustment for my location in North America -- doing so is pretty easy. A user friendly map is provided to assist those who do not already know how to perform this customization for their own region.
My preferred use of the guide is for contemplating and designing data logs to track exacerbations of medical symptoms, and then planning alterations in my acutherapy treatments that might enhance their effectiveness. Don't have enough data to verify that the extra work is worth the effort -- but I am clearly having a lot of fun!
Not in the least what I expected (2010-03-09)Found it complicated, too astrological, not handy or practical for my garden and greenhouse. Sorry, but for me, it was a total waste of money.
Seasonal gardening guide (2010-02-13)My husband already found several interesting charts in this book. He is always looking for new info on planting times, etc.

Printed using recycled materials.
A great at-a-glance daily astrological guide! (2010-02-08)The Mark Lerner Astrological Guide 2010 Wall Calendar is a great daily guide, using the easy-to-interpret symbology that he places on the daily squares. The monthly artwork is colorfully cosmic and fun!
Lerner Astrological Guide 2010 (2010-01-31)You have to check the meanings of the symbols in the back pages constantly. Furthermore, as an astrological guide it has the same value as the daily newspaper's Sun Horoscopes: so vague and generalized that they don't mean anything.

every goddess should have one (2010-02-10)NOTE ::: This review is very similar to my review on the We'Moon datebook.
I love the We'Moon calendars ~~ I've been using them for over 10 years.
The "On the Wall" calendar is beautiful and lush. Everything in the We'Moon line is created by women ~~ the gorgeous artwork tends to have spiritual and earthy themes, drawing from multiple cultures ~~ and always celebrates women & girls (maiden, mother & crone, if you will)in the tradition of the Divine Feminine. An added bonus to the calendar is the daily phases of the moon and astrological correlations.
If you honor and celebrate womanhood or embrace an Earth-based/Goddess spiritual path, this calendar is for you.
To find out more about the wonderful women who design the calendars, visit [...]! (I promise that wasn't a paid endorsement!)
Beautiful, interesting, and woman friendly (2010-01-11)This is a beautiful and interesting calendar. It shows the phases of the moon throughout the month, which I like because it helps keep me more connected with the moon in my cloudy part of the country. Each month has an inspiring quote or poem. The colors of the artwork do not seem as bright as in the datebook, and the artwork choices (which also appear in the datebook) are not my personal favorites. But it is a beautiful calendar, and I think many women who are interested in women's issues will find it both intriguing and useful. And the prices offered through Amazon are the cheapest I've seen. A great way to make this high quality product available to more women.

New favorite calendar (2010-06-30)I'm a huge astrology buff and I absolutely LOVE this calendar! I'm buying next year's for sure.
Only thing I personally wasn't a fan of was the art. I don't really like his style or artwork, but I'm sure others do/will.
Astrological Calendar Review (2010-02-19)I've been buying this product for @ least 11 years & I love this calendar. Llewellyn's 2010 Astrological Calendar
great info- cheesy van art (2010-02-05)This is the best daily ephemeris type calendar but it is way past time for them to hire some real artists or even to republish art in the public domain for illustrations. The cheesy van/headshop art is unworthy and frankly a little disturbing.
Awesome and Informative!!!! (2010-02-05)I only knew my sun sign before I got this calendar. Now I know so much more!!! It is chock full of information. It explains all the building blocks of astrology (planets, signs, houses, and quarters and more) I love it! I use it everyday because it has daily planetary aspects, when the moon moves from one sign to the other, information on Lunar planting, traveling, and more! It is a great intro into astrology with real time info! Highly recommend!
2010 a Very Volatile Year (2010-02-01)Here is your roadmap. Here is your guide to the play by play action for 2010. Highlight your new calendar with the sign changes by Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus and you will see what I mean. 2010, 2011, 2012 promise to be extremely volatile years. .
Great original art filled with the symbolism of the sign makes it a wonderful wall decoration. Mine always hangs on the kitchen wall under the clock. The article "Introduction to Astrology" gives the beginning astrologer definitions of planets, signs, and aspects they can use as they learn to decipher this unique set of symbolism.
Accurate Astrological Phenomena is invaluable especially when you are looking into the day, week, month and year ahead for yourself, your friends, and your clients. Also the boxes around each date give you enough room to write important appointments.
